Julianna Barwick and Mary Lattimore have joined forces for a new tour and album. Tragic Magic is a work of “musical telepathy,” said Barwick, who has collaborated with Lattimore on a string of songs and remixes, most recently the Adult Swim single “Canyon Lights.” The album arrives January 16, 2026, via InFiné, and the duo’s dates in North America and Europe kick off the following month. Co-produced by Trevor Spencer, Tragic Magic was recorded in the wake of the January 2025 wildfires in California, to which “Melted Moon” is a response. The song is accompanied by a live performance video, shot at Lou Lou’s Jungle Room at San Diego’s Lafayette Hotel and directed by Joel Kazuo Knoernschild. The album also includes a song written by Roger Eno (“Temple of the Winds”) and a Vangelis cover (“Rachel’s Song”).
